Camp Host’s Timely Tips Featured on the News

June 18, 2024

In addition to providing excellent customer service and keeping the campgrounds clean, our Camp Hosts have a well-deserved reputation for making safety a top priority. One Camp Host on the Pike-San Isabel National Forests in Colorado recently had the opportunity to spread his knowledge of fire safety with the public.

Larry Romero and his wife, Sharon, have been Hosts in the Pikes Peak District for four years. A television crew from KOAA out of Colorado Springs approached Larry at the South Meadows Campground and asked him to share tips with viewers on how to properly put out a campfire. Colorado has been experiencing high winds and elevated fire danger risks, so the news story provided timely information and highlights why our Camp Hosts focus on fire safety.

Since 1995, the ExplorUS family of companies has managed visitor services at more than 100 campgrounds and day-use areas on the Pike-San Isabel National Forests.
