Hospitality company ExplorUS has been awarded a 10-year contract to operate concessions at Thousand Hills State Park in northeast Missouri beginning in January 2024.
Thousand Hills State Parks surrounds Forest Lake, where ExplorUS will offer visitors the rentals of boat slips, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, pontoons, fishing boats and bicycles. The marina store will get a facelift and feature fishing and camping supplies and groceries, as well as a broad mix of park souvenirs, gifts and locally sourced products, all carefully chosen by ExplorUS’ expert merchandising team.
Staff at the full-service Lakeside Grille will dish up an array of delicious meals from a new menu, with items ranging from burgers and steaks to salads and pasta, and customers will have a selection of wine, beer and specialty cocktails to pair with their meal. Event space and catering services are available for banquets, receptions, meetings and more.
Overnight guests can choose from 14 cabins in a variety of sizes to suit their needs.
ExplorUS CEO Frank Pikus says the company is honored to manage the Thousand Hills State Park’s concessions. “With our newest location in the great state of Missouri, we are excited to serve locals and visitors who come to Thousand Hills State Park to enjoy all the wonderful activities the area has to offer. We are honored to work in such a beautiful park, and to continue our partnership with the State.”
ExplorUS has 28 years of experience providing a range of visitor services at recreation sites across the U.S., including national parks, national forests, state parks, marinas and museums.
